Then I left Montana. My pioneer family were the William and Elizabeth Bryan who owned a ranch on the Big Hole River. Glen was closest town. The settled there in 1880.I would like to order Vol. 1 of Beaverhead County History. I have Vol 2 but one has the information on my Great Grandparents.Would you advise on how to order and price.Thank you so much.Mary

Great site, very interesting. My great grandmother Sarah J. Moore Wood, 2nd wife of Noah S. Wood who live there between 1890-1918 he is buried there and I think she is also she died 1927. I am looking for photo's and history of their life there. I read a William Wood was one of the pioneers and feel he might be related to Noah. Thanks for your work it really shows. Jo Moore Ray

That is the most beautiful picture ever! Nice Job! Where can I get a higher resolution copy?

Admin reply: Some of the pictures on the site belong to the Museum and can be purchased for $5.00 + postage. Many are from the private collection of our very talented web master. I imagine you are referring to the beautiful picture of the Beaverhead Pioneers gathered above the Beaverhead Rock. This was created by the web master. You could inquire through his web site: www.glendalemontana.com which has a spot at the bottom of the home page for eMail.

I found your site while researching my family who lived in the areas of Glen, Montana. I will be in touch with some research requests. Do you charge for research and if so, how much? Paul

Admin reply: Our research assistants are members of the Beaver Head Hunters Genealogical Society and you can email them, attention Pat Darling, beaverheadhunters@gmail.com. The rates are very reasonable and, if you let Pat know what you are looking for, she can tell you if it is available and what the charge would be.

A million thanks to Maralyn, for visiting with us last week in the museum. We stopped by to show the kids the WWII exhibit and the Purple Heart, earned by Beaverhead County's Frank Buyan after his death in a POW camp in the Philippines. We ended up visiting with Maralyn, a native of our town, Littleton. She has just as much to share about our town as she does about Dillon! What a treasure! Maralyn, if you would send me an email regarding your house in Littleton, I need to know the corner it is on, and which house, as it seems the numbers have changed. See you all next time.

Thank you for your web site! I am a 'Gelhaus' decendent. Annie Sophia Gelhaus (John J.'s sister) was my Great Grandmother. I am hoping to get a copy of the History Book if possible. Sure wish I was closer to actually go look around the area. Thank you for making photos and info available to those of us who cannot get there.
Aloha!

Admin reply: The History of Beaverhead County Vol 1 & Vol 2 are available as a pair for $75 plus shipping. They can also be purchased separately. Please contact the Museum Store directly at beaverheadcountymuseum@gmail.com. Thanks you for your interest.
